Keeping New Hampshire Sports Inclusive
Status: Pending
Transgender adolescents and college students want the opportunity to play sports for the same reason as anyone else: to be part of a team where they feel like they belong, to learn self-discipline, and to promote self-esteem.
NH SB211 would discriminate against transgender women and girls from barring them student athletic participation. This bill violates federal law and undermine New Hampshire’s own transgender non-discrimination law.
GLAD Law and ACLU New Hampshire submitted testimony in opposition to SB211. Read our testimony to learn more.
GLAD Law and ACLU New Hampshire are currently challenging New Hampshire state law and an executive order banning transgender girls from participating in school sports. Learn more about Tirrell and Turmelle v. Edelblut.
