On May 13, 2026, GLAD Law and the National Center for LGBTQ Rights (NCLR) filed new motions to stop the Trump administration from putting 15 incarcerated transgender women at extremely high risk of rape, violence, and sexual assault by forcing them to live in men’s prisons.
Motions in Doe v. Blanche were filed in the Federal District Court for the District of Columbia and provide detailed evidence of the unthinkable harms faced by each woman and deliberate indifference of the federal government to these women’s safety, violating their Constitutional rights under the 8th Amendment.
The plaintiffs are represented by Jennifer Levi and Sarah Austin of GLAD Law, Christopher Stoll and Amy Whelan of NCLR, Eve Hill of Goldstein & Levy LLP, and Jennifer Fiorica Delgado, Alexander Shalom, Natalie Kraner, and Wayne Fang of Lowenstein Sandler LLP
