Kwestionowanie odmowy opieki w Yale New Haven Health i Connecticut Children's Medical Center

Dziesięcioro osób i rodzin z Connecticut złożyło skargi na nagłe zaprzestanie świadczenia opieki medycznej dla transpłciowych nastolatków i młodych dorosłych w Yale New Haven Health i Connecticut Children's Medical Center. Oba systemy szpitalne nagle zaprzestały świadczenia niezbędnej opieki medycznej pacjentom transpłciowym poniżej 19. roku życia pod koniec lipca 2025 roku, pozostawiając pacjentów i ich rodziców w oszołomieniu, a rodziny desperacko poszukujące alternatywnych opcji dalszej opieki dla swoich dzieci, aby uniknąć poważnych zagrożeń dla zdrowia. Żadna polityka federalna nie zmusiła szpitali do podjęcia takich działań.

In partnership with counsel Kevin Barry, we filed complaints with the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities (CHRO) on December 16, 2025, challenging the termination of care under Connecticut nondiscrimination law.

In a betrayal of patients and families, on August 5, 2026, the Department of Justice announced a settlement with CCMC in which the medical center agreed it would not provide well-established medical care for transgender youth for a period of 10 years. Nothing in this settlement agreement prevents our case from moving forward.

This fight continues – our legal challenge is currently pending in the CHRO. Standing strong in the face of authoritarianism is the best defense. This case is critical to our clients’ access to necessary health care I aby pociągnąć do odpowiedzialności tych, którzy niepotrzebnie kapitulują przed tym reżimem.
